3 things

Here are a few things that I'm loving lately.

 Wicked by Essie

I  love this color!! It's very sultry but subtle which is very nice. It's also a great everyday color so I can wear this for anything (work, play, weekend).

Black Soap

I was recently given a bar of black soap to sample and let me tell you, this stuff is AMAZING!!! It cleans your skin so well!! It can be used on your face, body and hair! Talk about multipurpose! It can be a little drying so I recommend pairing it with a good moisturizer.

Cheetah infinity scarf

Now that fall is finally here I've whipped out my cheetah print infinity scarf which I LOVE! It pairs well with pretty much everything :-)

So far, so good...

Aaron is entering his 5th week of school and is doing very well!  I have to be honest I was a little worried at first, I thought there would be an adjustment period for both of us. However, everything has been going better than I could have imagined. I don't even know why I was worrying, Aaron surprises me all the time. From his kind heart to his strong personality, he is definitely one of a kind!

We will be going to back to school night next week and I'm eager to hear what his Teacher has to say. He seems to be very comfortable in this new setting and I'm glad that he hasn't had any major issues starting out. Homework has been pretty simple, he went to preschool last year so for right now everything is a refresher.

I love hearing about his day. He only gives me a few pieces about his day here and there but its still interesting to hear none the less. So far I think his favorite activity day is Library day, he enjoys picking out a new book and bringing it home to share. I joined the PTO so hopefully I will be able to volunteer a few days throughout the year to help with reading and any other activities.

So there's the quick update. So far, so good...hoping it stays that way :-)

Life Lately

Life has been pretty chill these past few weeks. We've been trying to get into a routine now that Aaron is in school. The evenings can be a little hectic but we try and make the most of them. Here are just a few photos from the past few weeks, I kept it short ;-)

This little guy loves to read! :-)
I have some handsome backseat drivers!

He never likes to wear hats but he was all for it when I had my camera out!
We were trying out hats for the winter! Not too bad!

Workout Wednesday

Here is a killer and I do mean KILLER workout for you today!!!

If you really want to kick your heart rate into gear you have to try this workout.

It's suppose to be 10 rounds total (VERY advanced) but my goal was 5 (intermediate/beginner) I totally understand if you are beat after 2 or 3. I personally could only get through 3 rounds and I was drenched in sweat.

Here is the cycle, enjoy!

~1 minute of jumping squats
~1 minute of jumping lunges
~1 minute of star jumps
~1 minute of speed skaters
~1 minute of toe touch squats
~1 minute of plank jacks

This is a plyometric workout and will have all of your lower body muscles screaming!!! Don't forget to stretch!

Over the Knee

Untitled #10

Over the Knee Boots

Calvin Klein tall boots / BCBG black leather boots / Sole Society black riding boots / Sole Society tall boots

I've been on the lookout for a great pair of over the knee boots and haven't had much luck. My picks above I've found online and they are exactly what I'm looking for. However, I really need to try them on first before committing to a pair. I have small ankles and I want to make sure the boots don't slouch down too much. I'm going to have to stop into Macy's and see what they have but I know I'm leaning towards a riding boot style...but I wouldn't mind the BCBG peep toe either ;-) Do you own a pair of good over the knee boots? I would love to hear what style(s) you prefer and if you have any suggestions on where to snag a nice pair.

Workout Wednesday

I think for the past few years I've been on this up and down, back and forth cycle with eating healthy and exercising.  I just realized that to truly be healthy you have to make it a part of your life.  Everyday you have to work towards making healthy decisions and choosing to be active. It's not about being skinny or burning a certain number of calories. If you only do it for 3 months out of the year what good is it really doing for your body. I just want to be healthy now and when I get older and to do so I have to be consistent.  I mean let's think about this. We brush are teeth at the very least twice a day don't we owe our bodies the same to eat clean and workout daily?

I will admit being healthy is something you definitely have to work at. I have to make the right choices everyday and I struggle...big time! I would love to eat cake all day but let's be real, that's not good for me at all.  I try to think more about how I will feel and what nutrients are in the food I'm eating. With that in mind I make much better decisions. If I workout for the day and I've been consistent then I'm more likely to have a cheat meal and splurge on something I've been craving. I love cheat meals which I like to call reward meals. You deserve a reward for all the hard work you've been doing, right? It's only fair!

Here's a quick cardio workout! It's only 20 minutes! You do each exercise for 1 minute followed by 1 minute of rest.

~ Jumping Jacks
~ Running in place
~ Walking lunges
~ Jump Squats
~ Mountain Climbers
~ Jump Ropes
~ Burpees
~ Butt Kickers
~ Air Squats
~ High Knees

I promise if you do this workout you will be done in no time at all! Then you can carry on with your day!

Happy Wednesday!!! Half way there :-)

3 things

Now that fall is pretty much here I'm starting to pick up a few warm things for the boys. I'm in love with this style hat. I prefer hats that cover their ears because it can get pretty chilly outside and I want to make sure their warm. This hat comes in different colors so I plan to pick up two!

Pro Fleece trapper hat

I'm beyond obsessed with this mascara! I purchased it over the weekend and have been hooked ever since. I have dead straight eyelashes, yeah there long but who cares if they don't curl. I'm not a big fan of eyelash curlers...I'll be honest, they totally scare me! Maybe, I'm using them wrong but I don't find them useful at ALL!

I had to share a picture of this little guy! :-) It doesn't matter where we go he always has a bunch of stuff to bring with him! Here he has his keys (he's a backseat driver), his milk, his blanket bear and of course his sunglasses. He has to ride in style.

Photo shoot

We had a photo shoot a few weeks ago. We met with Michelle for some family portraits but thanks to lighting and a few dog distractions (thanks Andrew!) we didn't have such a great result. Michelle was awesome and offered to do another session to see if we could get a few more pictures. Here are a few of my favorites!

For more of Michelle's work check out her website ~ http://www.boschstudios.com/

Workout Wednesday

And we're back!

Are you looking for a new program that's proven to help you see results?

Are you looking for something that can be done in about 20 minutes or less?

If you need a new program that's simple and effective you should look into the Bikini Body Mommy Challenge! A new updated 2.0 program just launched on Monday and it's never too late to start a new program. The workouts are simple, upbeat and very effective. She changes up the moves so you will never get bored and it will keep your body guessing.

The workouts are typically 6 days a week...I know that seems like a lot but they are short workouts! You will have strength workouts 3 times a week and cardio workouts the other 3, alternating between the two. This is such a great workout because you get a good mix of both strength and cardio workouts. Your body needs both to effectively lose fat and build muscle.

You can find the official Day 1 video here for the 2.0 Challenge. If you are looking for something new and proven to show results please check out the Bikini Body Mommy Challenge. If you are currently in a program at this time no worries. There will be a release of a brand new challenge ~ The Bikini Body Mommy Challenge 3.0 early January 2015. So there's still time to check out this awesome program.

Link Love

Here are a few links I've stubbled across from the past two weeks!

I ♡ Scarfs

1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 / 6

I love scarfs!!! All different kinds too! They come in so many designs..floral, stripes, aztec, chevron, and paisleys. Scarfs have to be my favorite accessory hands down. They pair well with almost everything in my closet from a little black dress to a white tee and distressed jeans. They are the perfect accessory for long commutes, just toss it in  your tote bag and pull it out when the weather gets a little chilly.

With fall right around the corner it is the perfect time to break out my collection of scarfs. I love to wear them in the cooler months if I have a dress with a deep neckline or to give a little color to my outfit. If you don't have any scarfs I highly recommend that you purchase one or two for the months to come. Scarfs are a simple staple and can add a splash of color to any wardrobe.

We made it!

My big boy is off to kindergarten!
Yesterday was the first day of school for my neighborhood.  Aaron was beyond excited! We got to meet his teacher Friday so he knew what to expect for the most part. I have to admit I was a little nervous after I dropped him off but it went very well! He had a great day and was just as excited this morning.  Here are a few pictures from our morning photo shoot! :-)
As always, no picture is complete without your little brother!
Open your eyes, Andrew!
They are so silly! They always keep us laughing!
